Five to six year old Sophie-Too was loved and cared for since she was a puppy by a Mom and Dad that were very sad to turn her over to Sheltie Rescue.  But they felt they had no choice.  Sophie and their grandchild, that they watched several days a week, were clashing.  They made the difficult decision to relinquish her before there was an injury.  It was very stressful to constantly be on alert, watching to see if they needed to separate Sophie-Too and their grandchild.

Sophie-Too does not do well with children.  She will nip them when they're excited, which excites her.

She loves to carry around soft toys and play with them.  She's a happy, playful, loving Sheltie-girl.  She can get over-excited and very barky.  If a barking dog is annoying for you or your neighbors, this is not the dog for you.  Shelties love the sound of their own voices and Sophie-Too REALLY loves to hear herself bark.

We are currently still evaluating Sophie-Too's health status.  Some of our health tests suggested kidney disease.  As we pursued this the tests returned mixed results.  For example, an ultrasound did not show the damage to the kidneys we were expecting to see.  We're about to re-run our battery of tests again to re-check results.

Sophie gets along with other dogs.  She especially likes to play with the Mini-Aussie here, named Koda, who is also listed as available.  In her relinquishing home Sophie-Too had a canine companion in addition to her human Mom and Dad so she is used to having a canine companion in her life.

Sophie-Too needs to lose a few pounds to be at a healthy weight.  It'll be your job to feed measured, healthy, high quality meals twice a day that will help her to lose those extra pounds.  If you tend to put weight on your dogs, Sophie-Too is not the dog for you.

If you'd like more information on Sophie-Too please feel free to call us at 801-231-3031.  If you'd like to pursue an adoption please register at http://SheltieRescueUT.org and fill out our Application for Adoption.  The adoption fee for Sophie-Too, given that her tests indicate that she's healthy, is $350.00 and we'll throw in a lifetime of barks to keep you on your toes!
