Sport is an over-sized but purebred Sheltie-boy who's about 6 years of age.  He has a very mellow temperament although he's quite an active boy.  His name fits him perfectly!  He loves to run but potential adopters should keep in mind that he's a middle-aged Sheltie.  Sport loves nothing more than to kiss you and cuddle with you.  He's very friendly with other dogs, is very curious but gentle with our cat, and is a dog who wants you to be very happy with him.

Sport came to us from his family who were no longer able to keep him and give him the optimum care that he deserves.  They wanted the best for him.  At the time he wasn't completely house-trained so we've been putting the polish on those skills.  Sport has been doing very well with this - he's a very smart boy.

Sport rides well in the car and he's not a picky eater.  He's on a very healthy diet here which is what we like to see maintained in his adopting home.  All the dogs here are fed two meals a day, a breakfast and a dinner.  Free-feeding (a bowl of food out all day) is discouraged.  Overweight is an epidemic in dogs just like it is in people.  Free-feeding is a great way to overfeed your dog.  In addition, one of the earliest signs that your dog needs your help is a change in eating habits or the amount eaten.  Your much more likely to notice this if you're feeding two meals a day rather than leaving a bowl of food out.  Here, we measure the amount of kibble we're feeding each dog.

For more information about this wonderful Sheltie-boy please call Barbara at 801-942-4762 or fill out our Application for Adoption at www.SheltieRescueUT.org.  The adoption fee for Sport is $275.00
