Angel is an oversized Sheltie at 45lbs who has the best personality, getting along beautifully with people, loves to play with other dogs, and good with cats. Angel does have some separation anxiety when you leave him at home alone. He would do best if he had a buddy and was not left for long periods of time. If you're distressed, he will come to you to comfort you.
Angel's weight is partially due to the fact that he is hypothyroid - a common condition in Shelties. Angel is on a thyroid medication and should lose weight between this medication, Soloxine, and a controlled diet. We will be testing his thyroid levels in a couple of weeks to see if his dose of Soloxine is the correct dose for him. This will have to be tested at least annually over the course of his life.
