Porter was found near West Jordan Elementary and picked up by animal control who kept him for a week. It makes no sense that nobody claimed him because I could see his nails were recently trimmed and his behavior made it clear that he was used to being someone's baby. If you or someone you know may have lost him please let us know. We've advertised for owners for a month and now we're ready to find him a forever home.
Porter is a perfect little gentleman and loves to cuddle and kiss. He's used to being picked up and loves to be close to his person. He's been neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm tested --- and had a dental cleaning. About a week after arriving here Porter developed kennel cough which he probably got while in the shelter. We've treated him with the appropriate antibiotics and he's over it.
Porter was on hold for an adopter that had been working with us for several months when she saw his photo. It was love at first sight. This adopter had to drive down from Boise. We arranged for her to bring us another Sheltie who needed a home and was coming to Sheltie Rescue from Boise. On the ride from Boise to Sandy, love bloomed, and the adopter decided to adopt the Sheltie she was bringing to us.
So adorable, sweet, loving, smart, and very well behaved Porter is available once again. Porter sleeps on my side or right next to me. There is no such thing as a miniature Sheltie or a teacup Sheltie. Shelties that are breeding quality need to be between 13 inches and 16 inches at the shoulder. Porter is not breeding quality because he's as close to what might be a teacup Sheltie as you'll ever see.
Porter's adoption fee is $400.00. For more information or to fill out the Application for Adoption please visit us at www.SheltieRescueUT.org. You can also call us at 801-942-4762. For more photos, video and stories please visit us at www.SheltieTales.com.
