Ellie Rose is a Sheltie-child of divorced parents.  She was turned over to a friend who couldn't keep her in her apartment because, like most Shelties, Ellie Rose likes the sound of her voice (she likes to bark).  Ellie is a young adult at only 3 1/2 and it's obvious that she was well loved, cared for, and even trained to some extent.  She's house trained and is a wonderful household Sheltie-girl.  She behaves beautifully with her people.  We have NOT seen her around children. I expect she would not do well with young children and we strongly prefer to place her in an adult household.

Ellie gets along with SOME other dogs but not all other dogs.  She tends to be jealous and wants her owners to herself.  Possibly food may be a flashpoint for her. A very mellow canine friend might work well.

Ellie arrived quite a bit overweight and we've got her on a diet.  She's doing well but still needs to lose a few pounds.  Whoever adopts her needs to maintain this diet and help her get to a healthy weightl.  This is critical to her continued good health. It's important to Sheltie Rescue that her adopter is onboard with this and can actually help her lose the weight she needs to lose.

Ellie could benefit from a dental --- which we plan on doing at our rescue rates.  Right now our vet is backed up so it's taking us more time than usual to get our Shelties in for their exams.

If you'd like to meet Ellie or ask questions about her please feel free to call us at 801-942-4762.  The adoption fee for Ellie-Rose is $325.00.
