Molly was picked up as a stray and turned over to Sheltie Rescue of Utah.  She was apparently living outdoors and we began housetraining her right away.  She is VERY smart and trains readily because she's also eager to please.  She's learned some bad habits from wherever she came from like jumping up and bouncing around - just like the puppy she is.  But when she sees that you're unhappy with her she really wants to do the right thing --- if only she knew what that is!  So we've started working on this but she needs a lot more training to help her along.  She's got it all, a total package as a mahogany, sable, and white Sheltie with a great personality, pretty mellow, very friendly, good with our cat.

Molly sleeps in our bedroom at night in a crate - she knows that when she gets into the crate - all on her own now, she's going to get a YUMMY treat! She sleeps in a crate because she's not yet trustworthy overnight with her housetraining.  When she is, she will be an enthusiastic cuddler in bed with you and so happy to be there!  In the morning she gets out of her crate and comes downstairs with the other dogs, and out the door we go to go potty.

Molly eats a premium brand dog food, primarily Blue Buffalo and Natural Balance because as a nonprofit rescue group, Sheltie Rescue of Utah feels the money is well spent on the best quality food you can afford to keep your best friend in your life for as long as possible.  Not to mention reducing the amount of time and money spent on dentals and vet care when poor quality foods are fed.

Molly plays very nicely with other dogs, loves people, and has a gentle and sweet temperament.  She does not chase our cat either.  She loves toys too.

Molly is still in the puppy chewing stage.  I have to keep an eye on her when she's free to roam around - which is most of the time - to watch to see if she's chewing on furniture or anything else that's inappropriate.  She can easily be diverted to a toy or chew treat and told what a good girl she is when she takes the toy or chew treat into her mouth instead of the leg of the kitchen table.  Watching her behaviors I estimate her age to be about 9 or 10 months of age.

Although Molly is not really a shy girl she is camera shy - which surprises us.  So we're still working on getting photos of her.  You'll just have to fill out our Application for Adoption and meet her in person to see what a beautiful spirit she is.

We've had Molly spayed, she's up to date on her vaccinations, she's been heartworm tested and put on our REQUIRED monthly heartworm medication which is Interceptor. she's been wormed, and microchipped.

Molly is easy to love - we love her very much.  If you'd like more information on Molly please call us at 801-942-4762 or go to http://SheltieRescueUT.org and register and fill out our 3 part Application for Adoption. Molly's adoption fee is $385.00 - a pittance for a companion for life.  Video of Molly is coming soon.
